Should I always try to do the right thing? (micro blog)

This is a really difficult choice especially when it’s a fight between your heart and your mind. If your heart believes something to be right while your mind says exactly the opposite. I personally choose to be wrong when this situation arises.

I’m okay being wrong at times. There are times, when I know that what my heart is saying isn’t right but I give my heart a chance and take the wrong way.

For I don’t believe I should be on the right side of things all the time. I’m not afraid of standing on the wrong side on occasions.

I’m not here to be right. I’m here to live. Live a life less ordinary. I care less for if I’m right or wrong and more on ensuring that that little voice in my heart gets heard.

I’m okay standing on the wrong side if it is what my heart wants me to do.

Time management (micro blog)

This is one of the biggest challenges that a student has to face. Managing time between school-tution-again tution-school is seriously difficult to pull off.

When I look at “toppers” they do one of 2 things to get good academic scores. Either they are incredibly consistent with their studies or they compromise on sleep during exam days to pull off a blinder.

I’m not telling this through my personal experience. I was never among toppers (never wanted to be one). This is based on what I observed my topper friends were doing to do better than others.

This was talking about time management as a student. Now let’s talk about general time management.

The things that can produce the maximum amount of results should get your priority. In real life, one doesn’t need to work “hard” to attain good results.

In real life, you can do things which have irrational results. Just that you need to think where you should put in the effort. No one tells you what to do. You have to decide.

So if I have time, what do I do first? The thing that can get me the most output by putting in the least inputs. Although this doesn’t work that well for students as their life is mostly about “hard” work and rote learning.

But generally speaking, time management is the art of producing more results using less time.

Heart vs mind (micro blog)

I’ve been the person who believes in what his heart says. If my heart says something is right even if the rest of the world thinks it is wrong, I’ll still do it.

I let my heart take the biggest decisions of my life. This is possibly the reason why most think that I take a lot of risks. Some even tell me that I’m playing with my life.

All this is understandable as my decisions are not based on logic, they are based on what my gut says.

If deep down in my heart, I feel I should do something then even if the chances of failure are more than 50%, I’ll still do it.

This keeps me on the edge. I know the choices I have made are not the usual ones. Hence, they are risky.

Something even more important with living as per your heart is that you never regret. Even if you fail, you feel proud of the fact that you had the courage to follow your heart.

Living according to heart makes you more responsibile. So even if you fail, you can’t complain to your mother, father or whosoever but you. You are solely responsible for where you end up.

Not that I disregard logic. Logic has it’s own importance. It sure can’t be ignored.

Even while listening to heart, one needs some good logic to back it.

I follow my instincts more often than logic. The results till now are neither too bad nor too good.

But what’s most important is I don’t regret a single thing.

Parental pressure (micro blog)

Parental pressure is something I’m little aware of. I was lucky to have cool dude kinda parents. Not that they never told me to study and do things but they always heard me out.

Never did they say “shut up! and do as we say”. But I am one of the very few who have such parents.

Most parents are too harsh on their kids especially when it comes to studies. I’ve heard my friends telling me that their parents close them in a room to study.

That may sound a bit too harsh but yes there are parents doing that. Let’s talk about something that most parents do-consistenly taunting on how your friends or neighbors kids are faring better than you.

Comparing to others’ children is their favourite thing. This is so common that “Sharma ji ka beta” is a popular meme now.

But it’s time we make parents understand how below par our education system actually is. How it is not helping anyone get to their dream destination.

Parents need to understand that marks are important but their children’s life is even more precious.

Don’t make marks so important to them that if they don’t score well then you see them hanging by a fan.

May sound a bit too extreme but teenage suicides are on the rise and parental pressure is to be blamed.

Why should I wear clothes in summers? (Micro blog)

Short answer:

Because everyone else does.

Longish answer:

“People wear clothes for a lot of different reasons, but many wear loose clothes to feel comfortable, to cover up a multitude of sins, for protection against rain and cold (sports), to invest in beautiful things (couture, etc.), to feel better about themselves, because society expects them to, and because, in a lot of places, it is illegal not to do so. With the exception of San Francisco, I believe.” (Source: Quora)

So the primary reason turns out to be “because everyone else is wearing clothes”. This is a very valid reason. None of us bothered about clothes in the adivasi era. We were ok with naked people roaming around because none wore any clothes.

But now things are different. People just don’t wear clothes, they wear their identity. Your clothes determine your personality.

Your clothes form 95% of your first impression and the other 5% isn’t about your face, it’s about the firmness of your handshake.

This means your clothes matter more than your face.

So go buy yourself some good çlothes before you buy yourself a face wash.

Ideal self vs real self (micro blog)

Writing this blog is difficult for me. You know why? Because my real self doesn’t want to write anything while my ideal self knows that I’ve to write a blog everyday, come what may.

My real self is too sad to think about any topic and pen my thoughts on it but my ideal self knows how to force words out of my mind to be produced in front of you.

This is a serious dichotomy of the situation. I want to keep up with my ideal self but how can I not acknowledge how hurt my real self is.

Honestly, I don’t know what choice one should make. Noone knows everything. Same holds for me.

But here I’m choosing my ideal self by writing this blog while not wanting to write a single word.

Dear reader, please value these words. Each word above didn’t just come out. It had to be forced out of me. So do rate this blog accordingly.

Cold water vs normal water (micro blog)

Everyone around keeps telling me “Drink plenty of water…Drink plenty of water”

Ok but what water do I drink then- Cold or normal?

According to science:

Drinking cold water slows down digestion while drinking normal/warm helps in better digestion.

Also, cold water can get you a fever while there is no such risk with normal water.

It is also observed that drinking extremely cold water quenches your thirst well before than the required amount of water. While if you pick up normal water when you’re thirsty then there are high chances you might even finish a bottle without feeling satisfied.

The key here is not satisfaction. We should try to consume as much water as possible.

Hence drinking normal water turns out to be a better option.

Or if you really can’t do without cold water.

Then drink something in between cold and normal, say “mildly cold water”

Go get high on water, noww!

The importance of pain (micro blog)

There are 2 types of pain:

1.External

2.Internal

I have experienced both in the past couple of days.

A bee stung me a day before and it pains real bad when a bee stings. My hand was swollen for 24 hours.

This was external pain and then I experienced internal pain (something that I don’t share with anyone).

Now when I sit here trying to compare both the pains. I find my external pain was nothing. It didn’t make me cry. It was just there for 24 hours and then it went off.

But the internal pain fuckin stays. Even while I’m writing this I feel the internal pain.

Now let’s come to the point

What’s the importance of pain?

A lot, a hell lot. I’ve gone through worse pains in the past but that doesn’t make this pain bearable. But because of those pains, I know I will get over this as well.

The only question that still remains unanswered is

How many times will this pain kill me?

1…2…infinity

Why should I wake up early? (micro blog)

I mean why the heck? Sleeping is so comfortable, restful, calm, meditative and what not. Why should I barter an hour in the morning with my sleep?

Well I just may have an answer. It’s been quite a while now that I’ve been getting up at 4. I’ll try to answer using my personal experience of getting up early.

So, first and foremost you obviously get an hour or two extra that too in a much more calm and quite world.

Your mind early in the morning is well rested and away from any worries or anxiety. This is the best time to do something creative. I have personally observed, the blogs I write early in the morning get better ratings when compared to the ones written a night before.

Getting up early is so not easy, despite setting multiple alarms and asking your mum to wake you up. It is just not easy to get up early. You need a very solid motivation to do this each day, every day.

But if you find that motivation from somewhere then doing this can give you the confidence to ace the rest of the day as you have seized the most important part of the day.

Give your day a headstart

Do this for a week and tell me if it didn’t change your life for the better

Wish you luck

Inscurity (micro blog)

I chose to write on this topic because there are a lot of people facing insecurity for something or the other.

If I talk about school students, they are insecure about getting a good college. While college students are insecure of landing a placement. Job goers being insecure over the term of their job.

There is so much insecurity all around. But then how do we deal with insecurity?

One word answer TRUST.

Trust in your own abilities and God. The first one is obvious but why trust in God? Because you can’t control everything and for the things you can’t control, you have to feel secure that God has got you covered. He will never do anything bad for you.

Insecurity is something I myself face a lot. I have come to the realisation that one can’t just avoid insecurity. It has to be dealt with supreme trust in one’s ownself and the almighty.

Trust > insecurity
