The shit pot!

What’s the most thoughtful place in the world? Where thoughts start flowing like water? It’s when you are s(h)itting at the pot. Most of world’s most amazing things were thought for at the pot.

As a matter of fact, many top artists have confirmed that they got the idea for their best creation when they were busy at the pot.

I can fully relate, I get such mind bending ideas at that very spot that I keep sitting there long after I’m done with my business.

Part of the reason why amazing ideas hit you at that time is because you are not using phone at that time (if you do, you better not). Another silly reason can be that the shit coming out creates a vacant space in your head which is then quicky filled in with different ideas (but wait shit doesn’t occupy you head, hell no).

Whatever be the reason behind the thoughtfulness of the place. The pot will always be the place where I plan and strategize my day. A life advice for you, though you never asked for it, is to fully utilize your time at the pot by thinking about what bothers you and see it go down the drain (ew).

Wanna be a big success, the pot is the place where you plan it all.

PS. I know you are already shouting STFU (literally) on me for writing this but the shit pot was the perfect beginning for 2019, now we are sure we have nowhere to go but up xD.

You are luckier than you think.

It’s very often that I get to hear people complaining about their luck not being good enough. I agree that some have a better luck than others but that doesn’t mean you are not lucky enough.

The fact that you were not born in Hitler’s Germany, makes you lucky. You could have even born at the time of the great depression which would ensure that you can’t dream about your future. Or maybe if you were born in North Korea then noone would even ask you this common question that we get irritated by here in India- “What do you want to become?”, because in North Korea the government decides what profession you’ll get into. No career choice whatsoever.

Aren’t you lucky to be reading this on the internet. A place where all the knowledge in the world is condensed and constantly at your service. Imagine being born in 1960s, what would you do if a doubt popped up in your head- ask your teacher, if she doesn’t know then go to the library and scramble books for hours to get your doubt resolved. Who would do so much to resolve a doubt. Your parents did.

You need to start acknowledging the fact that you are lucky to be born at a time when we are not at war, and peace is loved. To not be born in such situations and eras is a blessing in itself.

You are luckier than the past generation which didn’t have the internet and also to the future generations that will be over dependent on robots and have little cognitive ability.

You are lucky to be born itself because you are just a +1 to the already going out of hand population. It would not really matter to the world if you never came to life.

It’s time you stop complaining about not being lucky. You have a free life, go all out and make the most of it.

You are NOT enough.

One lie that you should never believe in is “ you are enough”. Let’s for once not be fake with ourselves and accept the fact that we are, in reality, NOT enough. There is a lot we need to learn, explore and experience.

We are not even 10% of our potential. At this age in life, what we need is someone to tell us on our face that we are NOT enough. Tell us that this is a big bad world where survival of the fittest is an unsaid rule.

Don’t ever fall into the illusion that you are good enough else your growth as a person will stop. You start feeling highly of your ownself which caps your ability to grow further.

Whenever someone tells me that I’m enough, my instant reply is No, I’m not. People around you want you to feel better, so they will say sweet things to you but you need to be careful by weeding out the lies people tell you about you.

Awareness of what you presently are and what is your untapped potential is pivotal for an individual’s growth as a person. A part of this is to acknowledge that you are not enough. That you need to strive to get better each day.

Don’t confuse me for trying to put you down by saying that you are not enough. My sole intent here is to make you aware that none of us is up to the mark. We need to constantly look out for ways to upgrade to a better version of ourselves.

Which can only be accomplished once we feel a need for a upgrade. To fulfill this need, all you need to hear is

YOU ARE NOT ENOUGH.

Ability to be alone.

If there is one ability that is lacking among us modern teenagers, it has to be sitting alone in a room. By alone I mean without people, without any electronic devices.

We are in this fake internet world where we are constantly made to feel that we are not alone. There are so many people with us. While in reality, very few really care.

There can be someone you talk to everyday on the internet but when you need help, they would shake it off like they don’t even know you.

The problem with all of this is that we have started living farther away from the reality. We no longer have the courage to face reality by sitting alone in a room.

When you sit alone, all thoughts come to your mind, even the inconvenient ones. All your insecurities come to haunt you.

But trust me all of them can be tackled alone too. Spend some time alone thinking about your insecurities and you will come up with a solution. But if you continue living in the fake world, of which we are all a part of then you won’t even know your insecurities in the first place.

I challenge you to sit in a room alone for 30 minutes today. No smartphone, no laptop, no nothing. Just you with you.

Up for it?

Suicide or murder: kota, a mortuary.

Also known as the Mecca of IIT and NEET coaching, Kota has seen 3 suicides in the past 2 days taking the total tally of 2018 to 19.

But is it justified to call them suicides while all of them had a common killer. Stress put on students in Kota is nothing less than murderous.

Kota has rightly been compared to the modern Nazi concentration camp where students are tortured to study 24*7 to keep up with the preparation.

Parents send off their children to Kota even when their children don’t want to be an engineer or doctor. They do this because of the limited career options they are aware of and the societal mindset surrounding the “prestigious” IITs.

Little are they aware that they are just pushing their children in a well of death. I feel a pressing need to make them aware of some facts surrounding Kota. Here they are:-

1. 90% of students preparing in Kota don’t qualify.

2. Kota stops the overall development of your child trying to focus on 1 thing.

3. Every year around 20-25 so called suicides happen in Kota.

4. Not all IITians get high packages, some even don’t get a placement.

It is very much clear from the above facts, that sending off your child to such a place is not worth it. If I were a parent I would not send my child there even if s/he willingly wanted to go.

You tell me, would you even go on a vacation to a place where every year 20+ people get killed. You won’t. Then why push your children into such a place.

Kota is just 1 case, there are thousands of suicides happening across our country because of parents forcing their children into coaching institutes to pursue something which their child isn’t even interested in.

Calling it a suicide is non-sensical. They are all murders. You know who the culprits are.

-ChoubeySahab

PS. Share this blog far and wide, these murders need to stop right nowww.

Getting untuck.

Whatever you may be pursuing whether it’s studies or job or a project of yours. There always comes a time when you feel stuck. The clock seems to have stopped at a particular point and nothing is ticking.

What is the way to get things to start moving again? How to get unstuck?

Getting unstuck is important because the longer you remain stuck, the more time it consumes and the longer it will take to accomplish tasks and goals.

But how do we get unstuck? One way I can think of is to bring about a drastic change. It can a change in your daily routine or a change in the way you work or a change in your approach towards achieving the goal.

This change, if properly executed can get things to start moving again. This is extremely important to get to the desired destination as soon as possible.

The reason why some get success early while get it late is (in my opinion) the ability to acknowledge when one is stuck and doing whatever it takes to get unstuck fast.

This way they move and accomplish faster than others. Are you stuck at the moment? If yes, what are to planning to change to get unstuck?

Is formal education the safest path to success?

This is what most of us believe. If not us then atleast our parents believe that going down the conventional path ie formal education is the safest path to success.

Is it really the case? If we look at it closely, we realize that more children are in school and colleges than ever before. In older times, few got the previlige of education while today it is very much accessible. This means that many including you are getting the same knowledge as you and will be competing with you for the very same jobs which are few in number.

Clearly, formal education isn’t setting you up for any success. It is just making you ONE LIKE MANY.

This gives rise to another question. If formal education is not the safest path to success then what is? The answer is self education. The things that you learn outside the classroom. The things outside of your syllabus for which you won’t even get marked. Those are the things that will set you apart and give you a unique edge.

Self education makes you ONE IN MANY and prevents you from becoming ONE LIKE MANY.

You see the difference. Self education is the difference between success and mediocrity.

Take charge of your education and hence your destiny.

Difference between sex and gender.

Most of us feel that sex and gender are the same thing. While they are not. There is a big difference between the two.

The sex of a person can be male or female. This is based on what chromosomes you have, if you got 1 X and 1 Y chromosome then you are a male and if you got a couple of X chromosome then you are a female.

But gender isn’t as simple. There are again 2 main types of gender ie man and woman. Gender isn’t just based on chromosomes, it takes into account many things before you can be called a man or a woman.

While sex is a scientific concept, gender is a social and cultural concept. You can only be called a man if you have the desired qualities of a man in a society. You can only be called a woman if you fulfill a set of requirements to be called a women in society.

Being a man or woman can be burdening because that expects us to behave in a certain way. For eg, a man is expected to not be scared of anything and crying is prohibited. If a man gets scared of something or cries in his pillow for his heartbreak…oh man he just lost his manhood.

The gender, a man or a woman is given by the society. While male and female is given by God. We were taught from our very early years to try to become a man if I’m a male else become a woman.

That’s exactly what we all try to do. Knowingly or unknowingly- man never wears a skirt neither does a woman sport facial hair.

Both of the above mentioned are possible but aren’t practised because that would take away the title of man or woman that took so many years to win.

We are so hard wired to BE A MAN or BE A WOMAN that at this point we can’t forget this status given to us and start being just another male or female.

Imagine how much more relaxing it would be to live without the stereotypes about the 2 sexes?

I wish we could go back to being a male and female, how liberating would that be.

Why is farming bad?

Agriculture revolution, as we know it, wasn’t as rosy and good for us. The only benefit it had was to help humans produce in abundance which could help feed a bigger population.

The downsides of farming heavily outweigh the only upside. Before the agricultural revolution, we we’re hunters and gatherers, we hunted and gathered a wide variety of plants and animals to feed ourselves. This ensured we got all vitamins and in adequate amount.

Today we survive on staples like wheat and bread which are devoid of many important nutrients. Another big disadvantage of agricultural revolution was that we started over relying on 1 or 2 crops for our food, if the crop fails then we are in for a famine.

In hunter gatherer society, we never relied so heavily on 1 or 2 crops because we kept moving to find different things to eat. This brings us to third disadvantage, farming tied humans down. Now, we had to stay nearby to the field and protect it from any insects and rodents.

In older times, we humans never settled in wooden and mud boxes (houses), we kept moving and discovering the world. Only staying at one place for a short period of time.

Now you must be thinking then why did humans shift to farming from hunting?

Because it is now that we can see and analyse how bad it was for humans. At that time this shift seemed like progress to humans. While actually it was a step in the wrong direction.

What is social engineering?

Social engineering is a cyber security concept. It is the use of deception to manipulate individuals into divulging confidential or personal information that may be used for fraudulent purposes.

Social engineering attacks happen in one or more steps. A perpetrator first investigates the intended victim to gather necessary background information, such as potential points of entry and weak security protocols, needed to proceed with the attack.

Then, the attacker moves to gain the victim’s trust and provide stimuli for subsequent actions that break security practices, such as revealing sensitive information or granting access to critical resources.

Social engineers manipulate human feelings, such as curiosity or fear, to carry out schemes and draw victims into their traps.

Therefore, be wary whenever you feel alarmed by an email, attracted to an offer displayed on a website.

Each day more and more people fall for baity emails that say “Congratulations! You have won X dollars”. Majority of the new internet users still get caught in such traps.

As informed internet citizens it is our duty to educate others including our parents about such things. Ensure you get your parents to read this blog by sending them website link or whatever way you deem fit but please ensure they know about social engineering.

Being aware yourself is not enough, making others aware is equally important.
