Perspective on death

Most/ almost all of us are scared of death. Our idea of death is when everything ends and we’ve to leave everything we once loved/ can’t ‘live’ (not die) without.

But recently I watched a documentary on Egypt and it taught me a lesson or two on death. Ancient Egyptians treated death as freedom. A liberation from the material self to a higher state of being.

They believed in the concept of afterlife. The other side of death is something that always fascinated them. This can also be observed in the way the dead are treated in Egypt. Pyramids built to house the dead along with all of his belongings that he used in his lifetime (even his toothbrush).

Egypt taught me to have a more balanced / light view around death. Now I see it as a transition from my present state of being to a higher state of being.

Egypt taught me that what seems like the end can possibly be the beginning of something much better.

It made me realise how pessimistic (negative) I was when it came to the subject of death.

Here I conclude, you are an immortal being who keeps transitioning from one state of being to another. You never truly die. So you better live without the fear of death.
