Cold (micro blog)
What is cold? Is it the fever you catch when you drink something cold? Or is it the cold weather? This blog is about none of of these interpretations of cold. It’s about our cold approach towards life situations.
Say you score really bad in exams but you’re cold about it. You are not freakin out, not panicking, you are just cool with it. While the society expects a different reaction from you. The reason behind your cold reaction to the situation can be plenty- maybe you are dissillusioned to the fact that formal education is a scam or maybe these were just the practice exams and won’t have any weightage in your final result.
But what’s important to note here is that being cold (indifferent) to a situation mostly has a good reason behind it.
It’s actually good to have a cold behaviour in certain aspects of life. It helps you stay light and at ease. It allows you more mental space to think about things that actually matter and not freak out about the things that don’t.
There is 1 big requirement to be cold to any kind of a situation. It’s the extent of your awareness about the things happening and all the parties involved.
Like getting bad score even in practice test can be bad if your parents are serious about it (which they always are). So knowing the reaction of all the other parties involved becomes critical here.
It’s not bad to have a cold behaviour towards a situation. Rather it helps you invest your thoughts in better things. But it’s a tough skill to master.
It’s essentially about carving out the things that are actually important to you from the things that the world wants you to perceive as important.
Being cold is difficult but it’s somewhat cool.
