You don’t know how to breathe (micro blog)

Yes, that’s true. Most of us really don’t know how to breathe. Noone even bothers for how to breathe and how not to. It is something we take for granted. Something that is natural.

But you need to know that your breathing plays a big role in how your body functions. Most of us don’t breathe the right way. Yes, although unknowingly, we commit a lot of mistakes while breathing. These mistakes are like not inhaling enough air or taking air in through the mouth or breathing at a very slow rate.

All these are genuine mistakes that we frequently commit while breathing and these mistakes result in low levels of energy. You need to delebrately check if you are breathing the right way.

What!?? Checking on my breath. Are you serious? Yes very serious. Breathing is something we take for granted. While it one of the most important determinant of our body functioning.

So ensure that you inhale the right amount of air before exhaling, never breathe through your mouth and lastly take care of your breathing rate.

Go breathe now!

Why was homosexuality a crime in India? (micro blog)

On 6 September 2018, a 5-judge constitutional bench of Supreme Court of India invalidated part of Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code making homosexuality legal in India. In striking down the colonial-era law that made gay sex punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

But the question that still remains unanswered is “Why was it considered a crime for so long?”.

This was because most of Indian constitution was modelled on constitutions of other countries. So during the time the Indian constitution was being drafted, the constitution of most other countries including Britain considered homosexuality to be a crime.

Now the other question that needs to be answered is “Why did it take so many decades to get abolished?”.

This is because it is only recently that the voices of the LGBTQ community started getting loud enough to bother the stakeholders.

Even after it is legal to be a homo in India. I still suspect how much acceptance will this kind of a relationship find in a country where people don’t even know what LGBTQ stands for.

Wait I’ll just put it out for you.

LGBTQ stands for:-

Lesbian.Gay.Bisexual.Transgender.Queer

I’m sure more than 95% of you don’t even know what each of these mean.

That’s the present level of our Indian society.

Our country is moving forward at a fierce pace. I hope it doesn’t leave you behind.

Confidence vs arrogance (micro blog)

Being confident is important. Though it is not easy. You got to be really good at what you do to be confident. But once you get to that point. You have keep yourself away from arrogance.

Arrogance is what you fall into if you don’t know how to handle confidence. Managing confidence is a different skill altogether. It requires you to speak to everyone as if you are nothing. You just another human who is average.

You need to talk to people in way that doesn’t come across as arrogant. I’ll give you an example to understand this better, so take the Paytm CEO for example. His company is doing great, everything is beautiful. This makes him confident but not arrogant.

Arrogance is when you get high on your confidence. This man can dance in front of you, even though he doesn’t know how to dance. His confidence doesn’t stop him from dancing. While if he was arrogant, he would have thought that I’m the CEO of a multi billion dollar company. I should be all suited booted. But no, he’s not that person, he can dance with you. That’s being humble and down to earth.

But this is difficult to accomplish. After a level of success, one tends to get a bit arrogant. To achieve this you need to constantly remind yourself that the world would end one day. None of what you accomplished will stay.

The password for being confident but not arrogant is:

1 life. Live it. Don’t get high on it.

Because if you fall it will hurt real bad.

What does a beard signify? (micro blog)

Manliness? Masculinity? Well, if we look at history the answer is yes. There have been several periods in history when beard was considered to be a sign of masculinity.

There have also been periods in which people believed that being clean shaven signifies a better man or a man of higher I intellect. For instance, Alexander The Great established being clean shaven as a normal. While many leaders after him believed the opposite.

If we look at the religious front, beard is considered to be relating to the Muslim religion. Even Sikhs give high importance to facial hair. Other religions like the Hindu and Christian are mostly seen clean shaven.

This is the general view. A view that separates us in different categories. I being a person who carries a beard know how absurd can it get to have a heavy beard. All the guards treat you with extra scrutiny as they think of me being a Muslim. But I’m not, I’m a Hindu. But still they’d suspect me to be a terrorist.

Now modern view about beards, it’s a widespread notion that beards are unprofessional. This is true, but only until someone challenges it. We don’t have a cool CEO in India who has a beard. But I hope someone goes against the status quo. Even if noone does, I will.

Lastly, coming onto what does it actually mean to grow and maintain a beard. This is something you need to know about. Growing and maintaing a beard is hell difficult. Beard needs to be constantly washed, just like your face because ultimately it’s on your face. The skin under the beard is extremely vulnerable to dryness and allergies if not kept well.

So keeping a beard actually requires you to be a man. A man who has the patience and determination to grow a beard despite all the challenges.

A man with a beard signifies patience and perseverance more than anything else. Even masculinity.

Print vs electronic media (micro blogs)

Man! What are we even debating? Electronic is so much bigger and better than print. There’s no fight at all from print. If this is what you believe then you are wrong my friend.

Electronic media (keeping aside television) is really small as compared to print. Internet media houses are still coming up. We still don’t have an internet media house as big as AAJ TAK (India Today Network).

Talking about print, it is really big. In India, even today, majority of the people get their news from the early morning newspaper. Agree, smartphones have penetrated deep into indian households. But they are primarily used for sending out good morning messages.

The news that people get on their smartphones are through WhatsApp forwards. This is scary. This makes it so much easier to propagate a lie. A lot more convenient for people to spread rumours.

Electronic media will sure make news more accessible. But what it will also do is make news more fakable. This decreases the trust worthiness of news we find on the internet. Especially WhatsApp.

I’m not saying that a news printed on a paper can’t be fake. It’s just that it has wayyy lesser chances of being fake.

So electronic media is the future but don’t unsubscribe to your daily morning newspaper. It is still more trustworthy than the internet.

Does bathing with cold water help improve immunity? (micro blog)

Bathing with cold water is nothing less than watching a horror movie alone. Obviously you can’t take someone along to take a shower. You have to do it all by yourself. But there are plenty who advocate that bathing with cold water improves immunity.

On doing a thorough research on this, it turns out, they are right. Bathing with cold water has plenty of benefits among which better immunity is one.

It helps you stay energetic throughout the day. This is because as soon as the cold shower hits your head, you receive a mild shock. This shock increases your breathing rate, hence more oxygen intake. This leads to overall better functioning of the body.

It also helps in maintaining skin health. Cold water helps close skin pores, which prevents any dirt from entering skin.

Not just this, cold showers also help prevent depression. It sends strong electrical impulses to brain which leads to instant upliftment of mood.

Lastly, it also helps improve immunity. This is because cold showers improve blood circulation which results in better functioning of all organs. Hence, a more healthier body which is difficult to go down to a disease.

So ensure you watch this horror movie that’ll be up in the theatre of your bathroom this winter.

But there’s one downside. You can’t take pop corn inside.

Was Rahul Gandhi made a meme on purpose? (micro blog)

Rahul Gandhi is all over social media. People just don’t stop making memes on him. But was he made a meme material on purpose by the opposing party. So that noone takes him seriously.

This can be the reason. But even Congress makes memes on Narendra Modi. Why are they not as widespread as the Rahul Gandhi memes. It is because Rahul Gandhi has meme face.

What’s a meme face?

A face which goes well with a meme. Believe it or not but Rahul Gandhi has a baby face. So troll army of the opposing party exploits this to make tons and tons of laughable memes.

Rahul Gandhi also ensures that we never run out of memes. He said in a speech that Coca Cola was invented by a Shikanji seller. Then he goes on to forcefully hug Narendra Modi. Then winks in a parliamentary setting.

So Rahul Gandhi himself contributes to meme material.

But keeping all this aside. If you observe it closely. Rahul Gandhi never gives a speech when Chota Bheem is on POGO. His schedule is designed to incorporate each episode of Chota Bheem.

Don’t trust me? The next time you see Rahul Gandhi giving a speech in a hurry, just switch to POGO you’ll know why. It is because of FOMO-Fear Of Missing Out.

Is abusing in english better than abusing in hindi ? (micro blog)

It was only after someone suggested me to write on this topic that I realised how legit it actually was. This is so true that I could verify it on myself. I pretty frequently use the f word but refrain from using any hindi abuses.

There is a reason behind this. Most of the hindi abuses involve a sister/mother. So essentially when you are angry at an individual, you vent off your frustration on his/her sister and not the individual him/herself. How does that make sense?

You are mad at someone then be mad at someone. Why get in their female relatives into the picture.

Another reason I found for not abusing in hindi is I can see the uneducated/low key people using hindi abuses and I don’t want to look uneducated like them. So what do I do- I use the English abuses (cooll right?) . I know how silly this sounds. But let’s accept it. This is also a reason for avoiding hindi abuses.

Lastly, we look upto the west. For every “fucking” thing. Abusing even.

If we see it closely, Indian movies / soaps don’t have use of any abusive language. But we are cooll peeps. We watch Netflix right. We watch FrIeNds. They pretty casually use the f word here there everywhere. So we replicate that, cuz we are cooll swagy peeps.

Fuck essentially means the same as “maadarcho*” . Oh and I already see you getting offended. I mean I used a star to write that hindi abuse but well that’s offensive. Did you take equal offense when I said “fuck” just 5 words before that hindi abuse. You didn’t, I’m sure.

All this is because you are WEIRD (Westernised.Educated.Intelligent.Rich.Donkey).

So yes abusing in english is less offensive than abusing in hindi.

Like this blog? give me a good rating.

Don’t like this blog? Fuck ya man! Fuck ya

Motivation vs inspiration (micro blog)

What’s the difference between motivation and inspiration? Both help us get things done but how are they different from each other?

So the basic difference is that motivation is to get something specific done, say completing your syllabus. You don’t feel like studying at all but then your mum comes and gives you a motivational lecture. Now you are able to study.

While inspiration is much broader than motivation. Inspiration is when you look up to the best and work towards being like them. That is being inspired by someone.

Another big difference between the two is that motivation is for you while inspiration is for many. Sitting through a motivational video would help you complete the task while if you are inspired then there is a high possibility that there are many like you who are inspired by the same thing or person.

Lastly, motivation is something that you’ll need from time to time while inspiration is long term. Your motivation to study will fade again tomorrow but your inspiration from Elon Musk will stay.

Both motivation and inspiration have their own roles to play.

Keep yourself motivated and inspired. The right combination of these will take you to amazing places.

Why is everyone awake when sleeping is so much fun? (micro blog)

This actually is a very valid question. I see people being most active on the internet during the night. We spend most of our day feeling tired and worked up.

But then why don’t we sleep when we should?

Why do we have to check instagram/FB/WhatsApp/email and what not during midnight? The answer to this is, we love it when noone is bothering us. We love being all on our ownself. Noone stopping us from using our phone or anything.

Midnight is our time. A time when we are away from the hustle-bustle of the noisy world. Midnight is peace.

So instead of sleeping during this peaceful time. We prefer giving ourselves some dopamine fixes. What better place to go than social media when you want these dopamine fixes. This makes you feel good about yourself.

Sleep sure will make you feel well rested. But using phone during those hours gives you a fake high image of yourself. Then you go to bed with a smiling face as got so many likes on that picture you posted.

All this essentially screws you and your health up. Bartering sleep with any other thing is not worth the exchange.

Sleep is precious. Get it when you can. Because if you don’t then you won’t when you need it the most.
