Should I look older than my age or vice versa? (micro blog)
The answer to this varies from person to person. People often tell me that I look older than my age. They tell me that I don’t look like a teenager. I look much older than that.
I’m more than happy with this because :
1. Very few people actually know my age (which is mostly school mates)
2. They don’t listen to me like they would to a teenager. They lend me a curious ear giving me the opportunity to make a serious point for myself.
I go to several business conferences where I’m mostly the youngest one present but noone really gets to know. I talk and connect to people as if I’m a grown up like them. They treat me with all seriousness. That’s exactly what I want.
So I’m more than happy looking more than my age. But I’ve have noticed that most girls like to look under their age. Probably they never want anyone to expect maturity out of them (just saying).
Looking under your age can help when you are in your late 30s. So that employers don’t reject you for those newly formed wrinkles and sunken eyes.
I personally prefer to look older than my age now and will do everything to younger than my age at 50.
But anyway, age is just a number. It’s your mental age that really matters.
How old do you think you are mentally?
